Cynthia Kaump is a business owner and single mother, a former public servant, union member, and journalist, running for Wisconsin State Treasurer. Cynthia has a strong personal and professional connection to the Office as the former Director of Communications and Community Outreach for the Treasurer. Cynthia is also a Wisconsin native, public school graduate and child of public educators, licensed financial advisor, and former award-winning TV investigative journalist. She stepped up to run for Treasurer after a Republican-led effort to eliminate the position was voted down in a statewide referendum. She believes Wisconsin needs a strong financial guardian and has a detailed plan to restore and expand the Office of State Treasurer. This includes programs to teach financial literacy to students, provide support to victims of crime, and investigate waste, fraud, and abuse in government.
